Updates, Updates and More Updates
Greetings friends. It’s been a while since we have updated the revurblog. Here’s what’s been happening over the past 30 days: HaCkEd According to Slicehost (our current server company) it appeared that our servers had been hacked and were being used for DOS attacks. (DOS attacks for those who don’t know are essentially when a group of computers attack another network in...

Yelp's most important key to profitability starts... →
This is a repost from my original back in July. Still worth checking out. This is excellent news for my project. One thing i hope to do differently than Yelp is enable the local businesses to engage their critics (and fans) rather than alienating those voices. In my opinion, this approach creates a much healthier relationiship for all involved and, at the same time, enables a business to grow from...

Updates...
Things seem to be back on track this week. And hopefully with some luck and agile development our member revurblogs template should be fully functional. This is a critical piece to the urban revurb puzzle since most of the sites functions revolve around the content added to a members revurblog.  (for thosee who are curious what a revurblog is, i’ll be adding a definition on it sometime in...

This Entitlement of Free Needs to Go Away →
excellent article coming from Mashable. Sadly, this is exactly the reason why a lot of companies with great potential end up failing. I often wonder just how many people (myself included) would have a social stable filled with myspace, facebook, plaxo, linkedin, friendfeed and twitter accounts if they had to shell out 10 bucks a month for each? My guess would be…not many.

Off to the races with location based services
bijan: Today the iPhone App Store opened for business. The App store is fan-fucking-tastic. Very fast, easy to naviate and rich apps. Here are some of the initial apps I downloaded: -Twitterific -Yelp -Weatherbug When I launched each app, everyone of them asked me if they can use my location data. And they all worked remarkably well. When I updated twitter with twitterific my profile...

A Day Off for 3/4 of the team
It’s officially the 4th of July (Happy B-Day Lady Liberty) and today the majority of the team will be taking the day to do some other things unrelated to urban development. For me, it will be a chance to recharge a bit, hang with my wife and twins and hopefully stick my boat in the water. I only hope the other guys will take the day to pause a bit and do the things they enjoy the most. As...
